| 3e-010F Crypto Client PC Software used with 3e-110 PC Card
Windows FAQ
Question: Why doesn’t my card associate after installing the card and configuring the parameters?
Answer: Windows XP has built-in Wireless Configuration that interferes with the 3e-010F Crypto Client configuration. For the 3eTI driver to work, you must disable this feature by following these steps:
- Load the 3e-010F driver
- Open the Control Panel.
- Under Network Connections, double-click the Wireless Network Connection icon.
- Select Properties.
- Select the Wireless Networks tab.
- Uncheck the “Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings” box.

Question: When the card is plugged in why does a third part driver install automatically instead of the 3e-010F driver?
Answer: Windows XP comes with a set of PCMCIA drivers already installed. This can cause a conflict if the card you are using (CC&C or Senao) has the same Plug and Play ID as an already installed driver. For example, the Red Inalambrica Local 802.11b WLAN PC Card Plug and Play ID matches with that of the CC&C and Senao cards.
To correct this problem follow these steps:
- Select Control Panel --> Performance & Maintenance --> System
- Select the Hardware tab.
- Select Device Manager.
- Select Network Adapters.
- Select the conflicting adapter (ex: Red Inalambrica Local 802.11b WLAN PC Card)
- Right-click and select Properties for the card.
- Select the Drivers tab.
- Select Update Driver.
- Select “Install from a list or a specific location”
- Select “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install.”
- Select the 3e-010F Crypto Client PC Card.
- Click Next and finish updating the driver.

Question: Why do I receive an error message when uninstalling the software and then removing the adapter?
Answer: When uninstalling the software, the 3e-010F Crypto Client adapter must be removed first followed by uninstalling the software from the Control Panel or the Program files shortcut.

Question: Why can’t I remove and insert my PC card when the PC/laptop is on?
Answer: In the Windows NT environment PC cards are not “hot-swappable.” Remove or insert the PC card only when the PC/laptop is powered off.

Question: Why does the self-test fail when entering the Dynamic Key Exchange profile during Windows NT installation?
Answer: The dynamic key exchange profile should be configured through the Crypto Client user interface after installation is complete.

Question: Why is the user interface not visible in the Crypto Client?
Answer: The user interface is not visible if the font is set to greater than 100%. Set the font to 100% or less for it to become visible.

Question: Why doesn’t my WLAN card associate with an AP after coming back from standby mode?
Answer: Try removing and reinserting the card for it to associate again.

Question: Why doesn’t the 32-character password length work?
Answer: In Windows XP, the 32-character password length will not work in 3e-010F Crypto Client. Use password lengths of 6 to 31 characters only.
